FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  MEDIA CONTACT: Bobbie Vie (bobbivie@gmail.com // 408.915.8155)Nasty Ray in association with Bobbi Vie Presents brings you:
INFAMOUS 2013 ‘Just You And The Dance’

What: All Ages 1 on 1 B-Boy/B-Girl Battle of the Best Breakdancers in the Bay Area

When:  Saturday Feb. 16th 2012  7-11pm

Where: Edenvale Community Center 330 Branham Lane East

Cost:     $10 Presale/ $12.00 at the door

BACKGROUND: World renowned  Breakdancer Raymond “Nasty Ray” Mora presents the second installment of the highly acclaimed breakdance competition INFAMOUS. Mora, who has been featured in movies (Step Up 3D), on television (Dancing with the Stars), and has toured with Justin Beiber, says he expects this competition to be even larger. The first Infamous held in Feb 2012 brought out some breakdancing world’s biggest names including B Boy Machine (Step up 3D, Glee, So you think you can dance).

After being dismissed as fad in the late eighties the Hip Hop dance form known as Breakdancing or B-Boying has come back into national prominence. On television, in movies, and on music videos the movements of breakdance have recaptured the imagination of new generation of dancers. Nasty Ray came up with an idea of battle the strips away all the mainstream artificiality and displays the true and most dynamic essence of the dance. “Infamous is about the passion and purity of the dance” says event creator Raymond Mora.

Battle participants will compete in a series of One on One Battles for a $500.00 cash prize. What separates INFAMOUS from other dance competitions is the emphasis on preserving the true culture of the dance with contestants being judged on their ability to perform acrobatic feats in time with music.
To give the battle a world class feel, Mora has brought in one the top DJ’s in the breakdance world (Lean Rock) to provide the musical backdrop. In the words of Nasty Ray “Infamous is attempt to return to the good old days of Breakdance when it was just about the dance”  View high resolution

10PLUS
Opening: Friday February 15th, 2013
‘10PLUS’, a solo exhibition of work by dancer/photographer, Raymond ‘NastyRay’ Mora. Please join us on Saturday, February 15th, 2013 from 7PM – 11PM at Suhreal Store, 401 East Taylor Street, Suite #110, San Jose, CA to view these new works and hear a Q&A with the artist.
In the exhibition, Mora presents a series of photos that document the hands of some of the world’s most influential ‘break’ dancers (b-boys). The work strives to make the connection between the often calloused and bruised hands of the dancers as a metaphor for their longevity in the world of ‘break’ dancing.
The exhibition consists of 10 photos, black and digital prints, mounted on canvas. Each photo presents a close up of a dancer’s hand that has influenced the dance internationally (Jay Rawk, Poe One, Wicket). In addition to the prints, there will be a series of hand images projected on a wall to further drive home the central metaphor of the hand representing longevity
Mora is a world renowned dancer with 14+ years of experience who has been in movies (Step Up 3D), in television (Dancing with the Stars), and toured with Justin Bieber. Mora felt compelled to document the often untold story of ‘break’ dancers and picked up a camera in 2004. He is based out San Jose but continues to travel the world teaching and competing.
